As a girl, I can agree, ALTHOUGH, I’ve had dudes talk to me with cockiness instead of confidence and whether I was or wasn’t interested before, it’s a total turn off. I’ve also had my niceness mistaken for interest.

Your take on it is very shallow. It's important to think beyond seduction.

It's a common mental strategy by commentators to "assume the premise." If you want to make a funny remark about how everyone hates you, you act like everyone hates you and you continue your bit with that assumption. Obviously not everyone hates you, and everyone knows that but you all have a great time.

When talking to women, a very common thing that people do is assume the premise of attraction in order to play the "cocky funny" guy. You know it, she knows it, but you present it in such an interesting way that reality doesn't matter. That being said, it's still just an act to entertain yourself and the people around you. The best way to socialize is to be somewhat of a showman, however, that doesn't mean you should delude yourself into that thinking that everyone is in love with you.

This is how you get guys who are just arrogant douche bags with zero charisma. Assuming attraction won't do the talking for you, you still need to know how to be a great story teller, have great eye contact, and whole bunch of other shit.

So much of these posts act as if it's that "one secret trick" so you will click the youtube link at the end of their shitty blog spam.

Isn't it better to actually avoid thinking that she likes you? That way, you don't need to assume and be your natural self and build attraction. My style is not to assume that she likes me so that I don't fawn over her at the start and build a natural conversation based on who I am. Of course this style may not suit others.

I have mixed feelings about this. A few times when I went out on a night I kept putting the idea in my head that all the girls wanted me and the men wanted to be me. Those nights my confidence and interactions were unusually good. But I wonder if this is toxic in the long run because it does mean temporary delusions of grandeur and if internalised it could cause problems in everyday life. Just my two cents.

When you are talking to a girl, always assume she likes you. if she doesn't she is gonna let you know, believe me. Girls are easy to read. She will let you know nonverbally or verbally. So, assume she likes you. This way, you will have much more confidence in yourself when you are talking to a girl.

I see what you are trying to do but I think you have it wrong.

When I'm talking to a girl, I do NOT assume she likes me simply because she does not know me.

However, when I'm talking to a girl I assume that "if" she gets to know me, she will fall head over heels for me because I'm a hell of a catch.

I'm romantic, funny, charming, adventurous, a good talker and LISTENER
I'm great at fixing shit and know how to cook :-)

My confidence doesn't come from pretending a girl likes me. No. My confidence comes from the factual knowledge that if a girl is lucky enough to land me as her boyfriend, I will be an awesome boyfriend and she will thank her lucky stars daily that she isn't with some jerk asshole guy.

So, when I'm talking with a girl, I have the knowledge in my head that with every minute we talk, she will get to know more of who I am, and the more she knows about me, the more she will appreciate and like me.

So I don't need the panties to fly off instantly in a OMG I totally like him fangirl crush... No. I just need a few moments to make her smile, then another minute to demonstrate I'm listening to her, then another minute to say something that belays the fact I"m not a meathead moron... as time progresses she will like me more and more.

And if not, then we just weren't a good fit to begin with and I wish her all the best in finding a good match for herself

I toned down the nervousness by doing anything at all possible to stop giving a fuck. If I'm super into someone, I still try and remember a month ago I couldn't have gave a fuck who they were, and until they can prove they're worth giving more fucks about, other than maybe for their looks initially and maybe education etc etc.. I'm just gonna do my best not to.

Which usually helps turn the tides a bit. Best way I heard it put. Girls are like cats. The less you give em' the more they're after.. maybe not right away, but eventually they might be clawing to get up your leg.
