The comment itself can mean a lot of things. Have you noticed her body language? Did your shirt have anything related to something she'd be into? They laughing after leaving the elevator can mean that they've found the compliment unexpected, not necessarily something funny about you.

With all this in mind, this could really mean anything. But, as a rule of thumb, whenever I get unexpected compliments or approaches I think it was with the best intentions always.

Sounds like she's interested and her friends are giggling with her cause they're encouraging and lighting the mood up for their friend that took a risk of 'learning the game' by saying something to you after marveling you're appearance.
