I think your response is way too long and drawn out. I think you should aim for something funny, not some serious explanation. A few examples-

Why would I want to buy you a drink? (said jokingly but demand an answer)

What's in it for me?

This is your change to shit test her and find out if she's just fishing for free drinks or actually interested in you.

I would simply ask "Why?" When she asks you to buy you a drink, the burden is on you to decide if you can match the value she ascribes to herself by thinking she can get a drink on demand. But if you ask why, the burden is then on her to justify her value to you, and that makes you already the higher value thing.

I'm really cynical when it comes to girls asking for drinks. She may easily just want to get her friend a free one.

That happened to me once in ATL..... I just finished dancing with a girl some latin music, we walked to the bar.... she pointed to her empty cup... I hate woman that are just into you for the money so I just said no and bought myself the most expensive drinks I could find.... I know is not great game but forget it..... don't like somebody that I just met asking me for a drink!!!
