That girl at the gym you made eye contact with, the girl at Starbucks you were in line behind, or take it way back even; the girl from your senior year of high school economics class that gave you clear signals, but you just weren’t ready? And now it’s 8 years later and she’s engaged.

I’ve been thinking of the times I missed a chance at love, not really lamenting like I would in my younger days but playfully pulling different scenarios and things I could do better if it were to ever happen a certain way again.

It occurred to me that I never missed my chance. My life played out the way it was supposed to. And what’s for me, is already mine.

A calmness is felt as I type this, in the midst of my personal chaotic beautiful life within a chaotic world.
