Hey seddit!

so yesterday I opened this girl on the train next to me. Overall, interaction went well: I successfully did push/pull, disqualify, built attraction and even some comfort. However: one shit test she gave me threw me off a bit. When I told her I went to Derp College (a well known university), she immediately said, "So you're a nerd!" Doesn't help that I'm Asian and wear glasses.

I responded by deflecting it, saying that "actually, we call ourselves 'Derp men', thank you very much", and then accused her (playfully) on stereotyping. I don't think this was the best response I could have done, especially since I think I got a little defensive.

So: with the benefit of hindsight: what should I have done?

ignore? I feel like just completely ignoring what she said and moving onto another topic actually would indicate defensiveness, wouldn't it?

amplify? "Oh yes, I'm a total nerd. I insert stereotypically nerdy activity here"... I don't really like that response either..

deflect? "If by nerd, you mean this good-looking, well dressed charming man in front of you, then yes." I think I like this option the most...

What do you guys think?
