Anyone here run any routines or gambits to help them OPEN and TRANSITION after the open with girls at night?

I often read 'what you say doesn't matter' on this sub, and then everyone just 'games' the same way that someone whose never heard of PUA/game does lol. ''Hi, I'm jack. What's your name? What do you do?'' etc. Like, that's how everybody whose never heard of game does it but then what is our 'edge'? ('our' being the guys who read about this stuff). There's nothing to 'learn' if we're just making usual small talk in the same way everyone else does, is there?

I wondering if anyone here has better results with some sort of gambit or routine to help them engage the girl and maybe even build some attraction in the inital stages of a pickup

As an example, I have a friend who ALWAYS opens girls based on their clothes and then goes into some fake story (routine) about whatever item she's wearing in order to make her laugh. I've seen it do great and i've seen it bomb (I guess depending on the girls sense of humor) but when it does well, it makes me think we're best of having some sort of routine (but better than his one!) to help us engage/hook girls.

However, all the stuff out there is from like 2002 and it's all super cringey! Mainly mysterymethod. (either weird magician stuff and tricks, or opinion openers which in general are kind of played out now and she knows it's fake lol)

I think we can improve on it, though!
