I am a waitress, so I might be able to help you here. Im going to leave out all of the parts about openers and IOI and all of that because I assume you can connect the dots yourself.

When we are waiting, we experience a lot of rude, crappy people. The best way to start things off with a waitress is to make her feel like you actually care about her as more than just a table slave. Be friendly, ask her how her day has been, and crack a good joke. I personally love when attractive/cool men get sarcastic and goofy with me on the job. Establish a long running table joke that you can use to spark up conversation every time she comes back.

Ex: I once had a customer who would start speaking to me in Spanish when I came over (it was a Mexican place) I would tell him I didn't speak Spanish and then act really offended. He would tease me with even more Spanish and then go tell me to get him another margarita "seniorita". That was a few years ago, and I will still never forget that guy.

It helps if you are a regular too. The more you come in, the more she will trust you. Oh..and tip well. It won't like like you are trying to hard, it will just make her really, really happy, and get even more excited to see you again :D

It's the same concepts. You need to DHV, neg and look for IOI's. The problem is that you don't have time to really talk to her, the talking she does do has an ulterior motive, and she gets hit on constantly.

So first and foremost you have to be more desirable then the other guys. It should look like your table is having the most fun, you all should be smiling, laughing and in general having a great time.

Secondly you need very real tangible IOI's before you can go for any sort of reasonable close. Your usual smile and twinkle in the eyes isn't gonna cut it, and if you try to hard you're fucked.

Thirdly, ask her advice for either your entree or appetizer. She'll ask you "Did you enjoy your food?" or some such shit. Then neg with "Well my buddies was better, but I'll give you another chance if you'd like to reccomend me a good dessert/entree. Simultaneous neg, qualifying her and then you say you really liked dessert and it qualifies her.

Fourth, If it is busy you're basically fucked. Try again.

Fifth, If she gives you any openings you have to take them. If she smiles and says "looks like you guys are had a good time" at the end of the meal thats an invitation. If she says "I hope" it's not.

Sixth, unless you obviously are wealthy, handsome and fun, writing your number on the check won't help. If you're really in a hole and can't get anywhere don't cop out with this. If you have to go direct, go direct. As she puts down the bill ask her if she ever calls guys who write their numbers on the bill. You need an IOI here. If you proceed past this point with out some validation you're a creep. So if she say's "Sometimes" or any variant or anything It's better to pay with a credit card and write on it, "since you won't take my digits can I have yours?"

Seventh, remember you are intruding someone at their place of work. Especially waitresses are likely to get hit on a lot, often don't feel like they should have to put up with it etc... Realise it is very easy to come off as a creep. If you plan on coming back be careful. It's easier to pull a stripper then a hot waitress in a busy restaurant.

Eight, If she doesn't know you personally, or you know she likes you, or you've talked for more then 4 minutes don't ask to be sat in her section. it's creepy.

Nine, I disagree with ethical reasoning. Learning her schedule is very very hard to do.

Ten. But what you can do is ask her when she is working next. If she tells you come in, and then completely ignore her. It helps if one of your dining companions kind of clumsily hits on her. It makes her think "Gee the other guy was so much better" While this is happening if she makes eye contact have a small smirk on your face. Then make sure she see's that you are the one who grabs the bill.

Eleven. Dude please be careful. Doing this shit poorly makes bitch shields way higher. If you can't hit a club and be number closing at least 5 girls and kiss closing two (on a good night) then you really have no business fucking with this.

I'm on the ugly side and even I as a former waitress was hit on constantly. The prettier girls were utterly bombarded to the point where customers had no chance with them.

I thought there were a number of books or at least sections of books on picking up hired guns. I have not read that far, but there are some seduction torrents with many many many books in them you can dig up. One time me and friends went to a restaurant, and I'd had my eye on this waitress before, and my guy friend would not shut up; he kept talking to her, and basically giving me away. It was embarassing, but she was totally cool with it.

end of the night, I'm coersed by my friends to leave my number on the receipt, and I do. She calls me 10 minutes after we left!! I left my fn credit card... But Totally got her #, talked to her and invited me out with her.

My friend's gf is a waitress and I've gotten a sense for what it's like talking to her. Be aware that waitresses get hit on all the time and they always reply with a smile, thinking to themselves when will this guy leave me alone.

I have worked a number of service jobs in high school and on college breaks including McDonalds. You put out on a polite service facade but don't really let them see you.

So, be different than all the other guys. Break past the service facade and talk to the her that has to deal with long hours standing on her feet, the her that's really in there but she doesn't bother to bring out for most customers.

Make her exchange with you fun.

The time constraints of course make the whole process difficult.

they get hit on constantly, it's not easy unless you're famous or stand out in some other way. you have to stand out. it's their job to flirt, it gets them more tips, so they're even more dishonest than your average girl. if you don't care as much about success, just be upfront and call her over and hit on her. or drop your number in her apron. your chance of success with either of those is very low.

the easiest way to pickup waitresses is to become a liked regular at the restaurant, tip well for the order but don't order much (its never worth spending much on females), grab a beer or even better something unique from the menu, come in when its slower and she'll be bored and it's only a matter of time before you'll start talking by default if you're not savvy enough to start it earlier, learn her schedule, make more appearances, work it from there if you want the best odds to lay her. its not unique or innovative but this definitely works, from my own experience and that of many guys and girls i know. guys that do it intentionally, and girls that end up dating or banging people they 'met' at work

Neg? Well I can understand that term (and it is fucktarded), I guess I don't neg, I pos, I tell them positive things (and myself focus on the positive, I need a carrot to put her in front of another target), but I am a very confident person, so I guess it goes ok.

Anyway, from experience - if a waitress seems approachable* you should remark on something nice she's done, but not patronize** then ask her what she does outside of waitressing to show that you are interested in her.
