It’s the modern world. It’s a small town. Let them deal with it and not have you in the middle of them dealing with it. If they need to talk, then talk. But the expectation should be that you’re all adults. If you were supposed to be exclusive, then that should have been made clear.

Yeah, I would have said that doing so is always an invitation for disaster. You never know how they'll take it, so if it matters at all to you, what you do in the future is choose which one matters more to you, and go there first. You don't try to juggle both at the same time. Because people talk.

The fact that you tried to pull this off in a small town, boggles the mind. At least until one thinks about how the minds of men are often clouded. ;)

Well today, something bad happened. I bumped into a girl I was seeing (was just with her earlier this same day) with a new girl, at the bar.

So... Do you think there is a way to salvage this?

Yikes. No. Not unless you have one of those memory wipe devices from Men in Black.

You're going to have to let them deal with each other, if they know each other. If they're close, you might lose both of them. You might even if they're not close. But that's out of your hands. You can only wait for the dust to settle.

The only thing you can really do is figure out which one you'd choose if a choice is presented before you.

One thing though, do you think that any expectations had built up with this or the other girl? If so, you may want to apologize for not being clearer about how you were dating casually at this time.

Dude. In a small town, where there are a million eyes (many of which you won't see) and news will get around..... you cannot try to juggle multiple girls.

At this point, you're at risk of being pigeon-holed. Word travels. Even if it were just these two girls. Except it isn't. It's all their friends, too. And guys will possibly spread it too, since bringing other guys down in a small town, makes them look better. Your reputation will screen out:

All the girls who would consider a serious relationship. If you ever want a serious relationship, you will probably have to be finding them elsewhere. Even if a new girl moves into town, the others will fill her in as to your reputation.
All the girls who might like casual encounters but would take offense to how poorly you handled this. Girls like deniability, even when they like casual sex. So now with your reputation, deniability is impossible because rumors will fly if you're simply seen with a girl. They'll know that you handle things so sloppily that it will be public knowledge in a short time, if they date you.

Which will increasingly leave you only with girls who lack self-respect and other bottom-of-the-barrel-minded people.

You're going to have to chill out and disappear for a while until it blows over. If there are other towns or a city nearby, figure out a way to socialize there for a while. In fact, you SHOULD have been doing this before. Only one girl at a time in such a small pool, man.

The name of the town and state you live in (in the US?)
What you usually do when you go out; how you socialize and what your social circles look like.
How you usually meet new people.
How long you've lived there.
How long you've been in the dating pool. And how long you've been trying to juggle while getting caught, in this small pool.

Girls like to entertain the idea of you being desired by other girls.

But they don’t necessarily want to see you with another girl.

Unfortunately, there’s probably no way to salvage this, but it’s okay.

Source: I made the asshole move of inviting two girls on one date (expecting one to flake). They both actually showed up.

My rule is that everything is acceptable except lying.

Many girls not only accept but enjoy open relationships. Just tell her straight what you want.

That depends greatly on the girls...

Honestly, most of time that guys humblebrag about openingly dating multiple girls with all the girls being fine with it as they are such badass muthas, it comes down to a couple of circumstances...

Early in the dating\relationship and there is no expectation yet...and soon a decision will have to be made....

or

Girl and Guy are both seeing other people, and frankly there is luckwarm attraction or interest, at best, for these relationships and they don't really last very long.

It's a bit late, how you react can set the tone.

If you get uncomfortable, because you feel you are doing something wrong, you are setting the tone for them, and it's going to go badly.

If you are happy to see both of them, smile and say "hello", you may get out alive :-)

If you don't think it's ok, then you shouldn't be doing it.
