Pickup is about sex. Plain and simple. It's not about self-development, it's not about becoming rich/famous, it's not about elevating your status, or success, or self-discovery, or networking, or making friends. It is about inserting your penis into her vagina.

I see guys make this mistake: they buy pickup products, memorize theory, and go out into the field, only to have flake after flake after flake. They then rationalize the time and effort they put into pickup by saying it isn't just about sex, it's about becoming a better man. A man who women will be naturally attracted to. If only they had this or that then they would be well off with women.

Here's the thing about attraction: attraction is based on thousands of years of evolution. Things like money and flashy cars are relatively new inventions, and besides giving honest signals about yourself, they have very little to do with attraction and pulling.

It is one thing to work on yourself. To bulk up, to invest money, to get a good job and live a stable life. These are all noble pursuits. But these activities have to be differentiated with having lots of sex.

Sex is the result of escalation, congruence, proper planning, action, and a whole host of other factors that allow for the woman to feel comfortable with you inside of her. Studying pickup is different than studying self-improvement, and the amount the two feed off of each other is negligible. I know millionaires who have come to me because they have a hard time incorporating sex in their lives. These people are rich, successful in society, and have a whole horde of other things going for them. Yet because having sex with a woman is a whole nother process, oftentimes they fall short in this one area.

Moral of this post: If you aren't having sex off of pickup, don't delude yourself into thinking your problems lie with self-development. Focus your efforts on how fast you can escalate, how well you can communicate with women, and other factors that lie within your control and are directly tied with having sex. Pursuing wealth, fame, fortune, friendship, and knowledge are fine, but don't think the lack of these things in your life are why you are not having sex.
