Should I be saying less?

There's nothing wrong with talking and engaging in conversation with the person your seeing. If you feeling that maybe you're taking too much time to talk about yourself you should try to ask questions that allow the other person to share a bit about who they are. Consider asking something like where they see themselves in five years? Do they/ would they like to travel? What are some of their hobbies or things they like to do on their spare time? In my opinion, questions like these give you the opportunity to see if you have common interests which with open the floor for the conversation to move more organically. Plus it'll show the other person that you're genuinely interested in seeing who they are. Lastly, be confident in who you are. It's okay to be a dork and laugh and make jokes. You'd be surprised how people can find that attractive.

As for talking, idk I suppose you should say a little less. Dont get into talking about yourself too much, try to remain mysterious and joke around about everything. Avoid small talk and most serious subjects. Keep her talking more and keep it more about her

It's more about the impression you're giving a girl. They don't want someone who is thinking about them all the time (not in the beginning stages). They're more attracted to a guy who could leave at any second and be perfectly ok.

It depends on where it's coming from and what you're saying. If you're talking to impress her, then yes, talk less. If you're not talking and leaving a conversational vacuum, you want to do it while looking at her expectantly and confidently. It's a proactive silence, not a stressed one. If you're talking to amuse yourself or move things forward, go ahead.

You can be engaging without talking for most of the convo. Actually that's what you should do most of the time.
