I went on a date Monday with this girl who was much taller than me, but her pictures suggested she was alright looking and her interests/personality was what really appealed to me.

We arranged a coffee date and met up, and there she was, but she looked very little like her pictures. Bad skin, unhealthy paleness, and ... anyways.

I am here, so I may as well continue with the date.

Thing is, she was very shy and I had to lead the conversation the entire time. And by that I mean, I would make sure I gave her time to speak, but she would only say about one sentence, so I had to then pick up the slack and keep it going.

Well, the heavy-lifting was tiring and after 50 minutes (my shortest date ever), I decided to call it quits.

For the next 5 minutes, I stopped filling in the gaps of silence and started looking off a bit more rather than maintaining direct eye contact.

I asked if she had finished her drink, and signaled that we should head out. I half-way walked to her car with her across the small parking lot and hugged her and like an asshole, I pointed her way and said: Keep in touch!

We have not kept in touch.

In comparison, I went on another date yesterday with yet another girl who did not match her pictures, but had a fun enough personality that I looked past it and kissed her at the end of the date.

TL;DR I am very transparent when I am not enjoying something, and I feel like I was probably more of an asshole than I should have been. I told her "Keep in touch" after our date.
