Should I open up with a deep/interesting topic?

I talk about deep topics with girls all the time - almost the kind of things you would talk about with her therapist.

However, I wouldn't open with this kind of thing - it's asking for a lot off the open. Personally, I break the ice with something lighthearted and then move into the more vulnerable stuff after we've established a good connection.

The trick to the open is that it doesn't matter what you open with. When you learn that, the world is your oyster.

I do this on tinder dates all the time. Usually just a little bit of basic small talk, then I go off on some deep emotional topic because that is what interests me. Ultimately I want to connect properly, emotionally. Which means that she gets the feeling that her vulnerable side is accepted and I get the same feeling.

I absolutely hate small talk. I prefer deep meaningful and controversial conversations.

Early courtship is about fun. So if you want to get into deep conversations, find a pal.

I wish I could talk to any attractive woman like I do with friends. Why can't I? The opener wouldn't be complicated but her response would take a dip in her personal values and insights about topics that I care about.
