I've been on seddit of and on lately and I notice huge routines which just seem overcomplicated to me. I love the style and flair that those things have and I have to say that that stuff looks flashy but I like to keep it simple.

If you're in public transport and there's a cute girl across from you or you sit next to her and you start a conversation with her, she's likely to think you're only trying to hit on her and if she's not looking for that, you're sunk. What I usually do to start a conversation is this:

I look around the bus/train a little bit (not huge actions but enough to seem sociable)

Then I 'remember' I have chocolate in my bag and have a piece. Then I look at her and simply ask: "do you want some?"

If she says no you can make a gentle joking remark about it being a good choice and saying "I'm fat enough as it is" (laugh heartily at this). If she takes some, compliment her on being brave for trusting you.

You can go a lot of ways from the giving food. The point is, the gesture itself is pretty harmless and puts you on the nice guy list. If she's a bit of a slut then take another road but for the nice girls this works. After the first bit of interaction you need to profile yourself as not only a nice guy. A small joke and a sly grin does wonders in this area.
