Confidence is knowing what you want and knowing how to get it. Women want a confident man, they can see it and smell it on a man; we all know this. For some new guys inner game and confidence is as foreign as speaking Chinese, but there are many ways to improve your confidence and here is one: write down what type of woman you are looking for. Too many guys don't know what they want and suffer for it. If you have game already this doesn't necessarily apply because you've probably learned to adapt. Guys who are still learning need those initial steps to get them going. By determining what type of woman you want you are internally weeding out women and turning your game into a sharply pointed arrowhead to focus your attention on. If you know what you want it's much easier to get it. Don't think of this exercise as "losing opportunities" instead think of it as not wasting your time. Remember you are the prize. Also by writing it down you will have already given yourself the confidence to talk to a girl you see who fits your type because you already told yourself she looks like your type.
