Talk about stories. About movies aspirations. Go deep (to a reasonable level)

Flirt. That is pretty important. If you can get a flirty vibe going you can go talk about nonsense and have way more content, plus it makes everything much more enjoyable and romantic and makes exfoliation realy natural.

You need a balance of flirting and real conversations.

First date is kinda awkward. Basic questions and answers. School, hobbies, movies, that kind of things.

It shouldn't be. Work on improving your overall conversational skills. Learn how to learn about people (and teach about yourself) without a Q&A. Hint: storytelling, cold reads, role playing, and conversational threading.

It takes years to truly get to know someone, so if you feel like you already know somebody after a single date, you're not digging deep enough.

I'd talk about the first date...sometimes things didn't go as well as you wanted and you wanted it to turn out better, or perhaps she felt a certain way then that she doesn't anymore. I find it's a little more disarming to look back and talk about your impressions and what you were thinking (and if anything has changed since). It gives you a second chance to calibrate, give comfort, establish a better rapport without saying "okay, do-over"

Small talk = talking about facts. Interesting talk = talking about emotions. Really interesting talk = talking about emotions regarding her, you, or the both of you

Tell her what you like about her, quirks that you've noticed about her that you think are cute, etc. Talk about your life, what you love doing, what you wanna be doing in 10 years, what you're afraid of, what you like in a girl, what's a dealbreaker for you in a relationship, etc, let her answer the same questions and open up to you

Small talk is what happens when you're afraid to share stuff and just stick to boring logical facts about external things. With small talk literally nothing happens unless you guys happen to like the same team or TV show or whatever

Sharing emotions that are about you or her, that's how you guys end up feeling close to each other
