I took a move with a girl in a social circle of mine once. I thought she was interested because we used to have long conversations together and there was some chemistry.

So I asked her out and told her "I want to see you. Let's have coffee together on Wednesday", and she replied "good idea! Let's invite the other guys from our group and see who's in, and let's all go!"

I took a step back and stopped talking to her.
