I'm reading a book called Impro. It's about training actors, especially improv actors. But it makes a point that is really important to pickup.

In any social situation, whether M:M,M:F, or F:F, there is always a dominance hierarchy. Someone is always above, in the lead, and someone is always below, as a follower. If you watch any social interaction, you can see it. Body language, posture, the stance, where the feet are pointing, who's speaking more slowly, who's bobbing their head as they're talking and who's still.

When you're interacting with a girl, it's virtually impossible to create attraction unless you're leading, and you're in the top position. It's doesn't have to be a huge gap, but if you're below (you're supplicating, you're chasing, you're entertaining/dancing monkey, you're leaning forward, etc.), you don't stand a chance.

I think negging, teasing, etc. works so well because it's an instant way of establishing that dominance. So is passing shit tests.
