I remember watching an RSD video where a coach talked about a guy who had a 10 as a girlfriend. This guy, when talking about his girlfriend, was very casual about the whole thing. Like "yeah, that's my girlfriend, so what?"

Then the RSD instructor analyzes this and says that of course the guy doesn't think it's a big deal, because that's precisely what allowed him to seduce her in the first place and keep her. If he put her on a pedestal and tried to make sure she wouldn't leave him, she'd be gone in a second.

Then the RSD instructor tells us to forget about looks, ignore womens looks because that will allow you to seduce them without being mesmerized and allow you to view them as the same flawed humans that we all are.

Now, here's what that made me realize: There seems to be a psychological cap to how much pleasure I can derive from being with a woman. If I valued her too much then she'd be gone. Therefore it seems that the benefit I get from dating a 10 (in terms of happiness) can't be that high since eventually she will be just a normal girl to my mind or go away.

Therefore, I can do just fine in terms of happiness by dating average girls. Instead of trying to get the hottest girls, I can date the average ones and instead focus on my own mindset, my own appreciation of them. This would also be compatible with the middle way taught by the Buddha.

Of course I could just be rationalizing my lack of ambition and/or fear to go for really hot women.

But it makes sense, at least from what RSDJulien talked about in his happiness manifesto, a guy who has been with all the hot women he could possibly want, yet still found himself oddly unsatisfied.

Either way, right now I'm getting a steady supply of average looks women so I'm doing good.
