Hey fellas, I wanted to share a little lesson I learned from a girl at a bar the other night.
I was out with my sister, a buddy, and a couple of cute girls. One is like a sister, I busted her lip with a boomerang when we were in kindergarden. The other is her co-worker, first time meeting. I'm standing next to this girl, asking about their job, telling a funny story (Urinal Guy and I trying to decipher the motivation for bathroom graffiti), and touching her arm. Getting low interest, only little smiles,
NOT SURE IF SHY
OR NOT INTERESTED
...etc. Two guy friends show up, take the girls dancing. I go outside with my buddy feeling a little down.
I go back in to get a drink, and the strangest thing happens. I made an offhand joke to the girl next to me, don't get a response, and trail off ..."or something like that." She looks at me, smiles, and says, "No, you're funny."
It was like she completely saw through my current thin layer of confidence and instead of brushing me off, she was encouraging me (possibly without knowing it.) It was like your dad saying, "I'm still proud of you" after your team lost the game.
What I learned from what happened is this: (most girls) are not out there to constantly give shit tests, analyze D's of V, and what have you; they want you to have a good time (hopefully together)... so loosen up. I wrote this mainly for myself, but I hope you guys get something out of it.
