You have to learn how to enjoy yourself and let loose without alcohol. Alcohol works great, but it’s not sustainable if you’re going out regularly, health-wise or financially.

how to turn off your brain without it? Meditation, spending time in nature. Practicing getting into social rhythm with people while sober.

The trick is when you feel comfortable and high-status in an environment, you can express yourself freely and be social, but your brain shuts you down if you feel low status. If you force yourself to talk to someone and they’re excited to talk to you, it will help you feel more confident and open up.

But what if they’re not excited? Here’s the cheat-code. You be your own cheerleader and tell yourself the approach went amazing no matter what. I call it delusional narcissism where you just think everything you do is awesome. Obviously still be respectful and kind, but a random person not being receptive to socializing often has little to do with your value as a person and more has to do with their mood at the time.

Another thing is you might feel awkward standing without a drink in a bar. I assure you that no one is going to think any better of you if they see you standing without a beer in your hand. It’s an irrational insecurity

You can have one or two drinks then go on the water between drinks then you don't get too drunk and you won't have a hangover.

Cold exposure helped me more than anything, brutal but real. Some guys use kanna for the social edge sober, I chewed a Ferris Wheel Tablets tablet before a bar night, though it's not a crutch substitute.

There's nothing you could do to make it easier, you just have to jump in and deal with any anxiety you have and try as hard as you can to do the same things you would if you drank. Eventually you'll get used to it and the anxiety will be gone.
