So I just told this girl, D, i have been crushing for three years how I feel, and I thought it was best to end my friendship with her as it was doing more harm than good.

Fast forward three weeks later, I met this new girl, J, through mutual friends and we hit it off. She was getting off of a 3 year relationship, and seemed bothered it despite breaking up two months ago. She was very open to talking about my issue with D, but refused to talk about her ex which was fine. I found out on the day I told D everything that J knew her, but I didn't care.

J seemed like she was going "too fast". We went from discussing about Pokemon Go (game we like in common) to her trying to get dance with me (I'm hispanic and cant dance for nothing; willing to learn tho) to getting drunk together. Keep in mind, I have only started talking to her for two days.

Nevertheless, I thought J was pretty cool and I wanted to meet her at a Starbucks to get to know her a bit more. It is hard for me to give an exact time because I go to college and commute is 50 mins back and forth (moving in with friends soon so I'll be ok).

I set up a time and place for Thursday and Friday if i can't make it on one day, but after that she stopped texting me. I hit her up trying to get a follow-up, but no response.

Obviously, she is ghosting for some reason. Could it be that I was needy as I saw J as a new girl to move on with to get rid of D? Could it be that J told D on my intentions and told her to steer clear of me? I know I'm at a bad state right now, but I know what I need to fix and because of that, I feel way better now.

I just want to know what you guys/girls think of this, and is there anyway for me not to "put all my marbles" into a girl without seeming too needy nor being too cold?

TLDR; I met this girl J, and she seemed interested in me. She is a friend of this girl, D, who I admitted my feelings towards her and ended my friendship with her because of it. J started to go ghost on me, and I'm having issues on why that is. I want to know how I can stop being needy towards girls as I feel is pushing J away.
