I literally just got rejected 15 minutes ago. There's a takeout place I go to get food from with a cute cashier. She knows me by name and is pretty friendly since I always go there and I figured I'd ask her what her plans are this weekend. She said nothing, so I asked her if she wanted to go out. She basically said no and gave me some excuse that she had to help her brother at the restaurant.

Honestly, I always thought about what to say to her as small talk and I was probably kind of betaish but the point is, it's not the end of the world that she said no. Does it suck? Kind of, i'd rather she had agreed but I'm not taking it personal.

It wasn't the end of the world. She just politely declined. Move on. If you're afraid of rejection, let me just inform you it's pretty fucking painless. It's way more painful to sit there and pine over someone.
