A little bit of background: I'm a 20 year old college student who has been reading Seduction material for over 2 years without acting on it. I decided a couple months ago that I would commit myself to improving my game and track/share my progress in a blog.
I've only been active in the game for a short while, but the act of putting myself out there and practicing has given me feelings of satisfaction that I never anticipated. In the last two months, I've had more contact with women, physical or otherwise, than any other two month period of my life. I've gone on dates, made out with girls, been to parties, and concerts that I never would have done without seduction.
It hasn't been all successes. In fact, I have failed more often than not. But in light of those failures I have learned about myself. I know now what I am good at and what I need to improve and that is a great feeling. I read this stuff for 2 years without ever knowing what my strengths and weaknesses--not anymore. I know I can make girls laugh better than most men and I can practice basic kino effectively. Maybe more importantly, however, I know I have real problems with escalation, conversing on dates, and going for the number/kiss close.
It's in knowing this that I finally know what it is that I need to work on. Because I'm going out to practice and identifying weaknesses, I can work towards turning them into strength. When you notice a one-time weakness become less and less of an issue, it's an incredibly empowering feeling. I experienced this with approach anxiety. After preventing me from going into the field for 2 years, approach anxiety is a slowly diminishing issue for me. Last night I went to party alone and only knowing 3 people there and none of them very well. I wound up meeting and talking to a bunch of new people by simply asking for their names and introducing myself.
All of this is to make a simple point: Get out there! My failures are many and successes relatively few, but I finally know where I am on the road to where I want to be.
tl;dr: Get out there and practice. It's the only way you are going to know your strengths and weaknesses and that is how progress is made. It's also a very satisfying feeling.
Edit: And for anyone interested, my blog is called Project Pickup.
