younger than 25 text? I'm 23, female and I prefer when men call me. A phone call is more personal, shows more confidence and more interest.

You should be figuring out how you are going to contact her while you are still together in person, so it is all laid out.

Call is almost always better unless it is a completely sure thing and you just need to handle logistics.

There was a tread on here recently about how you cannot seduce a woman via text and there was a pretty intense back and forth about how the younger generation (i.e. 25 and under) prefer talking with their thumbs rather than their voice, but as an avid old schooler, I maintain that the initial contact should be made with your voice and text should be relegated to brief exchanges and info sharing (like times and places for dates/rendezvous), I'm 35 though, and I rarely date women under 27. YMMV

I believe that it all depends on you, your personality, and the context where/how you got the phone #.

Personally I HATE the telephone, for many reasons, one being that I am always BUSY. This is what I do (in broad strokes):

meet a girl that I am interested, I create attraction
after I know that I have created enough attraction, somewhat in the middle of a good conversation I have to go, George's style
so it is just natural that we want to continue the conversation, so either she asks or I ask for phone, email, FB whatever, so that we can continue this over coffee
therefore the contact info is only for determined the details of the coffee meet (not a date), time place etc....
and that's where I text or email, quick and easy, the less you talk or text, the more she'll want to meet you face to face.
I use Facebook for building social capital, she can go there and see my friends, what I do etc.. but once face-to-face there's a LOT more about me than what's on facebook.

NO, it doesn't work each and every time, it's an Art, not a science.

My general rule of thumb is to always call first. After that if you've established a good enough relationship then you can text, if she's cool with it.

I tell them that I'm going to text them tomorrow at some point after getting their number but before we part ways.
