If she is not your girlfriend then Keep it short, twice or so a week is a good balance. Texting should be goal oriented in the sense that it has to have a purpose of going out with her. Texting should not be used as a means to talk when you have nothing else to do. The scarcity principle comes into play. The more texts and validation you send to her phone, the less value they will have over time. If you don't progress things in real life, eventually your communication becomes so lowly valued the attention of another guy (which every average girl has plenty of waiting in her DM's) will be perceived as higher valued. Then it's over for you.

It's hard to limit communications with a girl you like, but try getting a mindset of "I'm busy and not checking my phone every single minute" and text her maybe a couple times a day but forget about keeping whole conversations. Should be reserved for real life meetings.

Respond when you have time. You shouldn't pretend to be high value, you should be. You could be playing video games and respond like 5 hours later.. sure. But I always say this, you're fooling yourself this way.
