Everyone makes this whole topic ever so complicated. I suggest you take a read of Message Game and learn a few things there. It will be very useful.

Don't be messaging her constantly. But message her logically before the date to comfort each other that it will go ahead. For example:

'I'll be wearing red, so look out for a scary looking me.'

Text her the morning of the date to confirm the details. You don't need to text her till then, you're a busy guy. But if she texts then you should respond.

you dont want to be clingy so the if the next date is set up just let her do the text or call or wait until the date

Don't spend more than a full day without texting. If she's shy she's gonna think you forgot her. Don't have to be a huge convo.

If you're busy, send her a meme and maybe 2-3 follow up texts.

Oh I think you should definitely text her, just not excessively. I agree if you don't she might think you have brushed her off.
