I just saw this post about "always assume attraction" and it inspired me to make this post. This rule was a game changer for me, and helped me huge. BUT, after integrating this mindset into my game, and developing better intuition, I realized that there's more to it if you want to bring your game up a level.
First of all, I made a post on the "always assume attraction" rule a while ago here:
http://www.reddit.com/r/seduction/comments/i6g1d/for_all_the_guys_who_ask_what_does_this_mean_or/
It's really a necessary step in progression to solid game, but there is more that can be learned if you want to optimize your results.
So what I realized was that although my results were far better when I assumed attraction and escalated, I was still loosing some sets. Now this of course is inevitable, every guy will tell you that you can't win em all, but in my obsession I was always working to get better results. Basically I went by the "it's her loss" mindset for a while, but then once I achieved satisfactory success, I wanted to take things to the next level and experiment.
I basically just kept trying. I know guys will say "don't chase, you're too invested, you're acting desperate..." but that's for beginners. I was already having success (far from being desperate) and I wanted to step it up and really see how far I could push things. I wanted to stop writing attractive women off as uninterested and instead see what I could do to get them. I'd often go out and see one girl in a party/bar that I wanted above all the rest, and I wanted to do all I could to get that girl, even if she blew me out on my first approach.
So the approach I developed, what ended up working for me, was approaching with the body language and confidence that I assumed attraction, but not physically escalating, and not saying anything too direct (aside from my opener).
After my opener (whatever I came up with at the moment, usually direct or situational), I would gauge her attraction/interest. This is where the approach differs from "always assume attraction". As I got better and more experienced, I could instantly read her level of interest. It's the way she looks at me, how self conscious she is talking to me, how she moves, facial expressions, the whole shebang.
If she's interested/attracted, then I escalate like usual. If there's any resistance then I do a bit of push/pull (teasing, takeaways, etc).
But, if she's not interested, if she's giving me the subtle body language that she doesn't want to talk to me, then I friend zone her, then blow her off. This is where my tactics are very different.
I act interested in her, but I don't act attracted to her. I actually give her subtle signs that I'm not sexually interested in her (more body language than anything else). I play it off like I'm just having fun and being social and I give her no special treatment at all, but I do make friends. I'm pleasant and then I get distracted and walk away and go have fun with anyone else in the party or bar.
It's basically a big takeaway. I spend some time having fun, and now I'm on her radar. She wonders about me, because I looked confident but brushed her off. Now I'm off being social and having fun, and completely ignoring her.
Then when I happen to have some proximity, I start talking to her again. Almost every time I get a lot more attraction than I originally did. If it's enough to escalate then I do, but sometimes she's not there yet and I basically repeat what I did earlier. I talk pleasantly to her then get distracted and wander off to have fun.
If she's still not giving me enough attraction that I think I can escalate on the next encounter, then I friendzone hard. Basically I tell her she's cool (for whatever I qualified her on) and I tell her my friends would like her and she should come hang out with us for ______. The blank can be whatever you and your friends do socially that is fun. I basically invite her along like I legitimately want to be friends (which I probably do anyways, if she's cool enough for me to want a day 2 with then she will probably be cool enough to be a legitimate friend too). We exchange numbers and I approach it as if she was a cool guy I met that I want to be friends with (but a bit more flirty).
And I do legitimately friendzone her. After a while usually enough sexual tension builds that we end up sleeping together. Sometimes it's days, but it's been weeks and a few times even months. And it's not like I'm chasing her for the weeks or months, I'm just casually in contact with her. Of course there's more to it here, you need an overall solid game, but this is my general approach.
So I basically do assume attraction throughout the whole thing, but I don't always escalate. I save that for when I think it will work.
