Its only certain types of women who go through this. These are the ones who grew up fatherless or in a abusive household or both. They were taught to believe love is expressed through abuse. Plain and simple.

Not to mention women are attracted to drama. These women have very little going for themselves and the abuse will bring an excitement to their lives. Something to talk about. Something to actively complain about. Something to take them through an emotional roller-coaster. To them, a peaceful life is boring therefore a peaceful man is not her priority. We shouldn't resent them for this. We must understand why they are this way and accept it. As it will make things much easier for us while we are vetting our women.

I heard a really interesting take on this...supposedly from someone at a women's shelter for those leaving abusive asshole men. Every now and then some asshole would get drunk, show up at like 3 AM, and start pounding on the door and screaming threats and obscenities as his ex GF/wife, etc. Some women would hide under their beds or closets, others would come to the window to see the drama unfold. The "window watchers" were almost always the ones who returned to the same shitheads they left in the first place. They were addicted to the emotional drama.

Supposedly a lot of them just get hooked on the emotional highs and lows. Think about how intense makeup sex can be, coupled with the other extreme of screaming arguments and drunken fights at 3 AM. They love riding the emotions rollercoaster. A lot of those men can also be super unpredictable. Instead of some boring stable responsible dude, their man can not come home from work one night, show up at 3 AM drunk, and start a huge fight even leading to physical abuse. The unpredictability is a turn on for some women.
