So I've really been delving into this stuff during the period that you guys seem to think we shifted too much into inner game. As someone coming out of depression/anxiety, this was superb for me, and was truly helpful. But, alas, I let quality work on my outer game and technique slip. I had some successes, for sure - a few f-closes, a good deal of k-closes, a couple numbers. But I'm feeling, looking back, that my technique has been less than impressive - or, at least, not where I want it to be.
Specifically in daygame and non-bar situations. After a few drinks and once I'm in state, I'm pretty confident in a bar, provided I can keep my social momentum going. Its when I'm where I spend 12-14 hours a day - my university campus - that my game has been struggling hard. I walk around with confident inner game, and not particularly caring about any outcomes. But, for all the people floating around campus, I have only done 2 approaches during this, my 2nd week on campus. Why? Because I've lost a lot of confidence in my technique. What am I looking for?
If anyone could give me some pointers for beginning-intermediate level in order to get past that first big technique wall, that would be awesome. I'm speaking more in terms of new ideas on approaching (specifically on campus), ways to get in to better social circles (sidebar: I never seem to know about any decent houseparties. How do I get in on this?), and how to escalate well during the day, without resorting to going to one of my town's clubs for a date.
In short, give the late-beginner-intermediate who has let his technique flounder as I developed my inner self all the advice you've got.
