Figured I'd throw up an FR regarding my New Years Eve, I've really internalized a few things lately regarding escalation that helped me out in the kind of night that NYE generally tends to be.

We got the bar around 10, it was pretty slow, so our group of boys hammered a few beers and on we went.

I ran into my old grade 9 girlfriend - so we had a nice chat with her, catching up and all that.

By now its 1130 and I've done little to no gaming. Me and my buddy decide that a New Years kiss is probably best accomplished on the dance floor. On the way there, we stop and open a set of 5 girls, make friends with all of them and then make our way over to the floor.

1 The DJ counts down New Years 4 minutes early - takes everyone by complete surprise, as he righteously fucks it up. Regardless, New Years comes, I lock eyes witha cutie near by, go in for the kiss, all is well.

2 The group we opened before comes and joins us. First thing I do is ask one of the girls who her new years kiss was. She sheepishly half says that she kissed her girl friend. I tell her that doesn't count, and we kiss.

3 Having a real good laugh with myself thus far, I turn to the friend from #2 and ask her if she thinks her new years kiss counts. She does not think so. Go in straight for the kiss there.

4 There's another orbiting friend, so I figure I'm on a hot streak roll thus far, and say "so all of your friends have been kissing me, it's tough to keep up" and she gives me a little smile and says "oh?" I say "I guess there's no reason not to keep the trend going eh?" and go in for the kiss.

5 I leave this group because this was getting a little ridiculous, so me and my buddies hang out on the dance floor. Normally, I'm really terrible at dancing, but I had been watching some RSD infield videos linked here yesterday where Tyler shows how he just makes eye contact with girls, puts out his hand and motions them to come to him. This works like a charm. I dance with a few girls, and one who is pretty inebriated comes and we kiss. She was realllly drunk and tasted nasty, so I didn't push it much.

6 Probably my best application of techniques. We're back with the original group of girls, and there's a new girl who has joined the group, I ask her name, and play the whole "guess my name" game. Amazingly, she gets it on the second guess (I have a bit of a unique name). I tell her that she's earned a drink, and to come with me to the bar. At the bar, I tell the story of running into my grade 9 girlfriend, and segue that right into first kiss stories and stuff. We banter a bit on this for a little while, and she admits that she doesn't remember many of her kisses, because they were all drunken first year uni makeouts. I give her that winning smile and ask her if she kisses me now does she think she will remember? She says she probably would, so I say let's test that out and we make out.

We get ourselves a booth somewhere and hang out and chat, I take her number and stuff. Her friend is now making out with my friend, and the two girls are going home together. Thinking my friend will play along and take his chance at sleeping with this girl, i invite all 3 of them back to my place for more drinks. He bungles this one, and says he's going home. His girl then says that she is going to her home as well, and my girl is to come with her. I wasn't really pushing the matter too much, because it wasn't as if I was insanely attracted to this girl or anything, so I just snagged a ride home with my buddy and that was that.

In all, it was a pretty interesting night. My biggest advantage, obviously, was the whole social pressure of a new years kiss and that trope, but even within that I think the biggest takeaway was just to escalate. Too often I think of a kiss in a bar as a big thing, but it really isn't - just go for it! This was the first time I had really vocalized a kiss, and told girls to kiss me, or otherwise shown that one before I go for it, and it definitely worked out in my favour.
