I've spent a lot of the past couple months watching and learning about pickup...it's helped me to understand more about me for sure...and why I haven't had success more often than not. The comments on this thread I found are just...every possible mistake a guy could make...I'm reading it seeing poor technique, steps out of order, and general misunderstanding and literal ignorance of what is acceptable and productive. People sort of talk shit on pickup because "it's just about getting laid as much as you can"...but I've found it to have a good set of skills to master that follow a normal, appropriately escalating, and generally ethical set of actions...two adults having conversation and making adult decisions on their own. The things in that thread though...just largely desperate, manipulative, and uneducated.

I disagree. There's simply no other way to change that guy for the better. It has to be 50/50 for new guys even if they're socially awkward. If you give them the right map and they do apply what you're teaching them then they will improve EVEN in their personal and family life.

I've had clients tell me that their family and friends noticed a TOTAL difference after only a month of coaching with me. I've had a student who had such bad social anxiety that he had to leave the room when he tried talking to women or vice versa, because he would get strait to panic attacks to the point he felt like he was dying. Now that guy is getting married to a girl he cold approached after dating her for over 2 years.

The problem these days isn't the guys who are socially awkward approaching women. The problem is that the socially awkward guys seek out advice from just as socially awkward so-called "PUA Coaches" that teach them to be even more weird and creepy but now adding being "Over the Top" to that list of weirdness.

It's an epidemic of bad information being shared by bad coaches and so-called experts who aren't doing any better in the game than the guys they try to teach.

But I'm doing my best to change that, one guy at a time 😁😁

No. They should learn pickup. The more socially awkward they are, the more that they (and everyone around them) will benefit from it.

The problem is if they are not very socially calibrated and they go out to learn to be social by doing cold approaches on random women.

It is probably an effective way to eventually learn, but it tends to annoy a lot of women and when they post infields showing their uncalibrated approaches it makes the entire field of pickup and everyone involved in it look really bad. Even worse if they get arrested or ejected from a property or if complaints are made to the media.

I would prefer if these guys would develop social skills first with their family, friends, classmates, co-workers etc. before they go out and do cold daygame approaches.

Every coach and every guy who has experience or knowledge of PUA should strongly discourage guys who admit that they are socially shy and awkward from practicing game on real live women. Until they're clued in enough to recognize when a girl is too young, too busy, too stressed, and they have the skill to instantly recognize and defuse any awkward situation.
