Hey all,

First ever post here! I never felt successful enough to impart advice to others, but after a 2-3 year spell, I've hooked up with 3 girls over the past week and a half. Clearly, something changed.

I'm 23 years old and have been addicted to weed for about 3-4 years. I didn't have a problem going to work sober or getting out of the house, but I did have a problem finishing the day without at least 2-3 bowls. Throughout college, I went crazy with it and may or may not have run a pretty big selling operation. Soon, every one I knew began to know me as the "weed guy". Well, that really weighed down on me over time. I'm a pentalingual astrophysics student and I really started to hate being known as the biggest stoner around - I wanted to be known for what I was proud of!

A month ago I decided to enlist in the National Guard to help pay for school and so, of course, I stopped smoking weed (Basic Training starts in another month). I feel very proud of myself for breaking the habit, which is coming across strongly as confidence.

I am by no means putting down smoking weed - it can be a lot of fun for couples and well, most people. However, this post is meant to address those of you that are self-conscious about your weed habits and how others see you because of it. Ask yourself seriously if a major part of your negative self-image revolves around being known as a "stoner"; I assume I'm not alone.
