Hi Seddit.

Been lurking for a while. I need advice. Pretty bad, in fact.

I'm a 20 year old virgin. I haven't even been on a date, or kissed a girl. Nor have I had a girlfriend. And it's eating at me.

Background

I'm at University. I have quite a lot of friends, and I can get along well with a lot of people. I'm not overweight, I'm fairly smart, and I go out a fair amount (and enjoy it). It's not like I'm a room-dwelling, anti-social, fat guy.

But I suck with girls. Hell, I can't help but feel that most of my interactions with new people are awkward as fuck. I mean, my social skills aren't even that bad, but I always feel like if I do something wrong, or say something "unsavoury", I'll be judged or something...I don't know. Probably a self-confidence thing, I guess.

Now, I'm not going to say that I don't get any female attention. But the attention I do get is from girls that, although generally nice, are not one's I'm attracted to...at all. It's kind of getting to me. At this point, I'm starting to think that there's even something wrong with me: if I can't attract anyone that I also find fairly attractive, then there must be, right?

Goals

So basically, I have two goals:

1) The main thing, is to become better at conversation, and generally increase my social skills. As much as possible. To be that guy that can talk with everyone so, so easily.

I can meet new people, I can get along with them, but generally only if they're introduced by a mutual friend, or if we're in a situation where we've been put together. I know the general advice is go out and talk to everyone, yet I can't help but feel awkward doing so. It just seems unnatural to start talking to someone without any basis to do so...if anyone can understand that, at all. I guess I feel so worried about the perceptions I give to other people that I worry that talking to people randomly will instantly make them think I'm strange. I don't know. =[

2) Be a bit more attractive to the kind of girls I'd find attractive. I'm not talking HB9 or 10s here. No, hell, HB6 or 7 would be fantastic for me.

I kind of feel stupid posting. It feels like this is the kind of stuff that should come naturally to people. And for me, it has been coming naturally, but seemingly so much slower than most people. And I basically want to sort my life out. I do apologise for general "ugh, I'm a loser, I suck, what do I do?" feeling of this post, but I'd just like to give you guys the best idea of how I'm feeling, I guess.

Protips from people who have been in a similar position would be great, please. =]
