TL;DR Somewhat good looking 20 year old, has worst Oneitis imaginable, gets over it, hires prostitute, hookups with a few random girls, has a relationship, and now is FWB with someone pretty cool. Overall, happy.
I was a 20 year old virgin, I considered myself relatively good looking, had little trouble actually talking to women, but could never actually make the close. I would never have considered myself to be a "loser," but my virginity and my emotions towards it led me to believe not only would it never happen, but that I would never reach any type of emotional or sexual level with women.
Here's a brief view of my progression, and maybe you can use it to further your progression.
At 20, I had so much oneitis towards one of my closest female friend, that I could sometimes drive by her house a few times a night just to make sure she was home, hopefully without other dudes cars there. (and believe me, I knew exactly what cars they drove) It got so bad that I decided to completely ruin our friendship, which was the worst for about three weeks, then I realized made things much, much better. 2 years later we rekindled a friendship that I now actually value.
This led to my first realization about Seduction: Don't use these tactics on people you actually value friendship with. Also, if you're suffering from as much oneitis as I was, not only will these tactics not help, but they will make it worse. Regardless of what people suggest, cutting these people out of your life in every way and changing your actions to not revolve around them (I made a commitment to never, every drive by her house again, and still haven't) will ease your oneitis. Biologically proven, each and every day you don't see or revolve around this person, your emotions will lighten up. You will be almost completely over this person in 3 weeks. If this person depends on you for emotional companionship, it is okay to let them know you need your space. It hurts, but I absolutely promise it can strengthen a friendship you have already developed.
Towards my 21st birthday, I decided to hire a prostitute. Without going into too much intimate detail, I decided it was the best mistake I ever made. It allowed me to realize that I focused so much attention on the emotional act of sex, that I was literally unable to realize that sex is just a physical act. We're men, and what they say about men is completely true. We don't have to have emotions about it, and I didn't.
My first sexual experience with the prostitute was actually very disappointing. Besides being WAY taken advantage of (an hour of blowjobs and sex for $500 total), it really made me realize that there isn't anything to losing your virginity. I didn't have some profound jesus-finding experience. I didn't leave feeling so overwhelmingly overjoyed that i no longer had v-card.
This led to my second realization: Losing my virginity just made me realize i was WRONG about my perceived notions of sex. It's only as big of a deal as you make it, and I made it the biggest deal on the planet.
Here's my advice for anyone struggling with virginity: Lose it. Losing it will make you realize that sex isn't what you think it will be, it can just be an emotionless physical act. Hire a prostitute, bring home a 2, don't stress.
Next was my first hookup - to keep this very short, I was more nervous about this than hiring a prostitute. This girl was already coming home with me, how do I get through my front door, up to my room, set the mood, and get in.
Needless to say, this was not a big deal. We both knew why we were there. Inside, upstairs, 30 seconds of small talk about my cat, foreplay, sex, leave.
Hopefully you can see the direction all of this is leading: We overthink these things based on our emotional novice.
Deciding it was time to be in a relationship, I had a prostitute and a hookup under my belt to make me realize, I'm not scared of this stuff, none if it is actually scary. Once this ended, several more hookups led me to a FWB relationship with this girl who I like, and we've both decided this could be a relationship, and the minute one of us wants it, we'll commit.
So here I am, 4 years later, not banging out every girl at the bar, but comfortable and happy with myself because in 4 years, I've had a small number of encounters which made me realize the only thing keeping me from these moments was my emotions. I can now take a step back and realize my entire life was spent being afraid of things that aren't scary.
Hope this helps, would love to hear your thoughts.
