Just about. Except the psychological tricks are on yourself, not other people, and you'll only ever "seduce" people who are attracted to you in the first place.

Women are attracted to confidence? Then you become confident, and learn how to signal that. Appearance? You learn to make yourself look good. Humour? Learn to tell jokes. Sexuality? Learn to touch women appropriately.

There are tricks and things, but they're generally to improve the stats for those people who do view women as objects, etc. The worthwhile part of pickup is learning to be an attractive man.

No. There are routines and lines, but they should not be the foundation of your personality unless you want to be a fucking tool with no real substance. If you want to be psychological trick man, have fun being a fake human being that hasn't develop real confidence and personality. Many guys who start off need routines or lines to get them going at first, and that's perfectly fine, but it should never become the foundation of who you are. Hell, experienced guys use routines and lines here and there, but it's never the basis of their game.

However, I'm worried that learning such a skill will negatively distort my view on women, in that I'll start viewing them as objects and having contempt for how easily they give in to manipulation.

You're already worried before even getting in, and it shows empathy. Everyone objectifies each other to some extent, so I doubt you'll become a sociopath. Humans manipulate each other constantly (e.g. "pass the salt please" or putting on make-up). People love to say, "I don't like being manipulated!" without ever realizing they get manipulated all the time in many incredibly simple, subtle, and maybe insignificant ways. Unless you recognize every little way you get manipulated (by your environment, other people, etc.), you really have no right to criticize other people (and even if you do recognize these things, you still shouldn't be a judgmental dick).

PUA will change your view of women, for better or for worse. I mean, I've always been a somewhat jaded individual, so I can't say much has changed for me. But if you view relationships through a Disney-esque lens, well, you're in for a tough ride.

To be honest, bro, you have no idea what your long term goal is. And, even if it DOES end up being something as simple as a wife, how would you know? I guess you'd be able to tell from your extensive library of experience with women?

This isn't about helping you find a "cookie cutter life" that has failed millions of men and women around the globe for hundreds of years.

It's about putting you in touch with what you want - even the things you don't KNOW you want yet. It's about learning to pay attention to your desires, to work out which ones are actually helpful for you, and to take risks and go for them.

So, no, if you do this right, it won't make you a bad person. It will make you who you are capable of becoming.

Read the sidebar. Get some hobbies. Hold yourself accountable. Grow. Evolve. Find yourself.

You'll end up dead someday. Until then, I hope you're doing something worthwhile for yourself.

You actually don't have to pick up 100s of women, promise them committed relationships, screw them once or twice, and then throw them away in tears. People who do this are usually pretty sad inside.

What you should do, is use your newly acquired people skills to meet lots of people make lots of friends, have mutual fun, and ultimately find the love of your life.

Don't let seduction make women worse in your eyes. Use it to make yourself genuinely better.

Mystery mentions how he prefers the term "attraction," to "seduction," and I thoroughly agree. I much prefer the term attraction. In this community, you can learn how to create attraction. Your aim is to become more magnetic, interesting, high value, desirable -- attractive to women. The woman goes home with you because she's having a fabulous time with an exciting man. Not because you used Jedi mind tricks on her.

I've always had respect for women, and this material has helped me deepen my understanding of them. This stuff didn't make a misogynist out of me.

All seduction does is increase your confidence. It's true that it can be taken too far and you start getting arrogant, but as long as keep a "leave them better than when you found them" mindset, you should be good to go.
