Whats the r/seduction stance on making fun of yourself

Some people like it, but my personal observation is that self-deprecating humor is an attraction killer. It puts your neurotic self-loathing on display (even if it's masked in humor, or even a minor display). I started noticing this when I read a suggestion to avoid self-deprecating humor (I think it was in the book Magic Bullets). So I started watching, and was surprised to discover that when I used it, I blew myself out of a lot of sets, and also I used self-deprecation a lot more than I realized.

Girl here. If you're making fun of something that you actually have an issue with, like a character flaw that you can't get over, it will probably just come across as sad and beta and you will probably get a pity laugh. If it's something silly, like I make fun of myself for being a big ol' hipster, I think it's fair game.

I think it's a great tool as long as you don't over-do it. It shows that you have a sense of humor AND that you aren't too up tight or serious about yourself. With that being said, if you are doing it every other second it could show a lack of confidence. Make sure you are smiling and laughing WITH her at the things you say. And don't let her off the hook. Make light hearted jokes at her expense as well.

Self-deprecating humor and seduction doesn't mix very good IMHO. Don't do it.

I used to do it a lot, and you really shouldn't be doing it. It's fine every once in a while, but you can't overdo it. If anything, focus more on being able to comfortably agree and amplify a joke made at your expense.

I recently posted and fr that had some self humor in the set and I was told that I shouldn't do it. Someone said it was a good move. I personally can't really say.

It all depends on how you do it. It can lead you to seem secure and comfortable in your own skin, or, as trhoawaypua said neurotic and self loathing. Silly jokes are best.
