Hey guys,

So recently I asked out a girl that i saw randomly at my gym. Although she hesitantly said she has a boyfriend in response to me asking for her number, she continues to make small talk with me on occasion, and initiates conversation.

I feel like she is a geeky/nerdy introvert type (she wears Batman and Thor shirts to the gym lol) that doesn't get asked out often. I say this because when i asked for her number she took an awful long time to answer asked why and just seemed confused. So i think she may have been startled when i first approached her.

As I write this, i get that she's probably just being nice by continuing to talk with me and I probably shouldn't ask her again.

But i want to know from you guys:

How does asking out a shy geeky girl differ from the outgoing party girl? And when is it appropriate to try asking the shy geeky girl again if you feel she was just nervous the first time?
