So, I went to the book store this afternoon, and was wandering the aisles, I noticed a cute redhead walk in... as I kind of meandered over in her direction, she took a look at the new releases... then the paperbacks... then start heading over to the childrens section. I followed. She looked around a while, then stooped down to grab a copy of "Where The Wild Things Are."
I sidled up next to her and picked up a copy too and casually mentioned "Oh, hey, did you hear that Maurice Sendak had died?" she looked up sadly and said something about how it was a shame and that it was her favorite book growing up. She asked if I had seen the movie, and I replied that I hadn't - actually, I didn't remember much about the book it had been so long. "So, what DO you remember?" she asked - still leafing through the book...
"I think the biggest impression on me was 'If you love it, eat it.'" awkward pause awkward pause then she giggled, I smiled. a little more small talk, digits were exchanged - going out for a drink on Friday.
Listen to the news kids, can come in handy!
