Why are men/people in general so shallow?

I mean, sex is one of the main things that differentiates a girl friend from a girlfriend. So you have to be attracted to her to sexually desire her. I don't find that very shallow at all.

What does venture into the territory of shallowness is when you won't date girls you are personally attracted to because you don't think your friends or other people would be impressed by her looks.

For relationships?! Because sex is important, no matter what whoever is telling you the opposite. And sex needs attraction. I don't mind being great friends with somebody I otherwise like but don't find attractive. I don't need to find everybody attractive. Just people I want to be intimate with. And this is also true for women, actually.
