Because, in general, it's safer for a girl to give you a fake number, or ignore your calls and texts from a distance than to say no and risk you being the git who gets violent when rejected.

I'm not the most experienced, but I've only had one girl reject me flat out. (She actually sent me home and told me she would text me her answer because she didn't want to do it in person lol) All the rest either agreed to dates and then flaked or simply didn't respond to my invitation at all.

Girls have this thing called options. Think about it, it's unfair, but if you're an attractive girl, all you have to do is show up. Guys ask you out, and they take you out on dates. Now let's say a girl has a nice chat with you, perhaps she's just being nice to you. There could be a list of other factors. Maybe she's dating too many people at a time, maybe she got back with her ex, maybe she just isn't into you, etc. Regardless, move on like the rest of us to the next girl because our time shouldn't be wasted on those who waste ours.

Yup, sometimes they do that. As your game gets better your flake-rate will also decrease though.

Hey man late reply but this has helped me in that situation alot. What I do is I give the girl my number and I tell her to text me. If she chooses to text you she is interested and you know she's serious. As why do girls flake maybe she just gave you her number because she didn't want to make you feel bad. Maybe someone else came into the picture. Alot of guys can't take rejection (girl saying no you can't have my number) So the girl will just give you her number so you leave her alone

Because it keeps you as an option.

If she has a lot of options she might not want to lose you as one in case something else falls through, so she won't reject you or say no.

However she might not want to take you up on your offer because she has better options. By flaking she keeps you on the table while taking her better option and not having too much guilt.

Cold feet. A girl knows what you're thinking about when you've asked her to hang out. She's thinking about what happens if this doesn't go well. She's indecisive if she wants to put herself in a position to hook up tonight. She's making sure she has outs. Sometimes this results in her flaking instead of going through and meeting you. And she's embarrassed that she cancelled and can't bring herself to tell you that you scared her off, but she knows she won't try to hang out with you again, so she cuts communication.

That's one reason improving game drops flake rates. If a chick is already more comfortable with you, she won't worry about things going south. And she'll be more likely to think she probably does want to hook up with you tonight. Comfort and safety are your top two contributors to flakiness.
