It all depend on trhe guy trying to learn. I feel your assume these guys here just want a pussy hunt (yes, some do) but most want to be able to take a girl by surprise, bring on a date and see her smile and light up while having a good connection and a little sexual tension. Sexuality is fun as long as your responsible with it. Some are bad with women and just want a girlfriend, wife, or flat-out just want a meaningful connection. I hope your not stereotyping too much.

We get this sort of reaction fairly often. Recently we had a series of posts (and I hope they continue) by a woman that started reading seddit, thinking it was a bunch of lotharios seducing vulnerable women, but instead, she started to become interested and started studying what we do. Now she even uses some of the techniques of PUA when seducing men.. and women. So keep an open mind.

Some men have really great qualities, but they don't understand how to communicate that to a woman in a way she will find emotionally engaging. So they find it impossible to create an emotional connection with women. Maybe they grew up without a male role model to help them acquire social skills with women. So the man can misunderstand the signals a woman gives him, and he does not even realize he is giving signals back.

So the first PUAs were men who researched what women really respond to. This gave men some new ways to think about their experiences with women. Lots of these men never really talked to anyone about their sexual issues, they don't even know how to talk about it.

There are a lot of misconceptions about PUA. I think from your other comments here, you may have one of the most common misconceptions, that PUAs think they can seduce any woman they want, that they have secret tricks that will hypnotize women. And there actually are some fringe groups that believe these ridiculous ideas, but they will grow out of it eventually. But for the most part, we are just a bunch of guys who want to improve ourselves, and as a result we will have improved relationships with better women than we have in the past. This way, we can explore what we want from relationships with women, and what we become when we are in a relationship, and ultimately find out what kind of woman that can be in the relationship we want.

Of course guys want sex. So do women. Any satisfying relationship is going to be a sexual relationship too. We are generally sex-positive. Having sex is not necessarily the goal, but it is a significant component of intimate relationships.
