I'm 21 and a college sophomore. After years of working on myself, I was able to transform from a creepy needy to someone who who lost his virginity to arguably the hottest girl on campus. Suddenly, I became desirable. Hooked up with several girls. I had a low-stressful but low-paying part-time job in something I was passionate about.

However, something changed this semester.

I got a new unbelievable job of a high-power manager at a corporation. The amount of money they offered blinded me. I am earning the same as the highest paid student who graduated from this college last year. The job takes ~25 hrs / week. I have to put 30-45 hrs / week on academics (CS major) and ~4 hrs in a college seminar I head. Therefore, I end up working 60-74 hrs / week. I work Monday to Sunday and have never taken a vacation. I sleep 4-5 hrs - even during weekends. I started depending on 15+ cigarettes, Provigil, Adderall and 5-8 cups of coffee per day.

I've become like a robot. I have very limited free time. In my free-time, I'm so drained out of energy that I don't feel like socializing. I feel like my soul has been sold.

I lost my sense of humor, my charm and my flirting skills. Instead of being interested in finding out about a girl's life, 90% of the time I'm just talking about my job and the work that I'm doing. I contemplate quitting the job and working on my own business idea. Then I meet my college seniors who tell me their sob story of not being able to find a good job - asking me to hire them in my department. Then my perspective changes.

Girls who used to be in love with me find me boring now. Even I find social interactions boring.

It's very easy to say quit the job. It's very very hard to do it. I'm from a poor family. I've only been in this job for 6 months - quitting right now will look bad on resume. Furthermore, I'm heading an entire department of the company - if I quit, the entire department will suffer and the company will hate me.
