I've spent some time in the self-development area - and quite frankly - it's easy to fake who you are. I've met a very beautiful women and "applied" game like it was directions off a book. At the time game just seem to be something i did rather than who I am. I was confused because i just couldn't understand how some people naturally attract women without "learning". The times i spent "trying to be happy, motivated, social, and alive", all went to shit because i was not being my authentic self. I went through each and every day pretending to be someone who i'm not and without knowing why i need to be social, happy, and alive. There were no longer a need to be the person i was before I got into a relationship and so over the past months. I've degraded back to my old self as easy as taking off a costume. I ruined my relationship and it left me confused and befuddled for months, asking myself why did she leave. What's the reason? As I again step back into becoming the better me, i realized that it was because pretending to be someone you're not is tiring and useless. Because the more time you spend with the individual, the less of that gamey shit you need. Since you've already got the girl you wanted, your brain will realize that those shit you've been faking. Is no longer needed. And over time, you'll revert back to your old self. This is because as soon as you settle for a girl, your need to achieve better and bigger goals comes to a stop. Therefore leading me to be who I was before i started this whole pick up thing. So the gist of it is that I learned to continue creating new self-development goals for myself no matter what. By creating more goals for yourself, you'll always be on top because you gave yourself a "why" and a "reason" to strive. Striving for change and becoming the better you. I've learned that no matter who you become, there will always be someone who's better and more remarkable. That's why the pause ruined my relationship. I was once my best, but now the worst because i no longer needed to be the best version of myself. That is until she left me. I hope this will give beginners a new insight on relationships.

Edit : If you're temporarily pretending to be someone you're not only to get in a relationship, then that is deemed useless because sooner or later. Your true personality will be show. Which i asume was the thing holding you back from getting the girl.
