Edit/Update: I just continued to have this gut instinct that it wasn’t going to work. He messaged on Tuesday, I replied Wednesday, nothing from him til Friday night. I replied, and he messaged late Saturday morning, which was insanely low-effort and merited no response from me. And then this afternoon, he cancelled tonight’s date because he’s, “tired” and in the same text asked if I could go out tomorrow. I told him no worries, stuff happens. I’m booked tomorrow. Hope you get some rest. And that’s it. I did not offer to reschedule. We’re all done here. Lesson: Trust your instincts. Benefit: A night to myself with a good book and a fire :)

So I’ve had two dates with this guy. He’s smart, interesting, and has his act together. Good job, own home, you know — the things that should be a given for a 40+ adult but aren’t because: men.
He asked me out for date 3, and I agreed. But then I didn’t hear from him for a couple of days and I honestly did not care. On the one hand, I should be so into him rn. It’s new and all that. But also...I’m trying to implement more FDS ideas and let him do all the pursuing, so being a little more mellow is good.
Overall...I’m kind of like....ehhhh, maybe he’s just still opening up. Maybe I’m just not into him. Should I spend one more evening on this guy?
