Every single guy I’ve ever dated, from high value to low value, has always paid. Even when I offer to split they looked either offended or laughed it off and said absolutely not. No guy friend I know has ever lamented over paying. They want to show they can take care of you. Most men acknowledged that “she took the time to do her hair and makeup for me, I don’t want her to stress over paying”. Also, I’ve been told if a woman pays or splits the bill they take it as she’s not interested.

While I was in school or looking for a job after graduation I discussed my lack of ability to financially contribute. I was met with the same response of they make more right now and I’m studying for a great career, which ends up benefitting them too if we stay together. Translation: they were INVESTING in me and our future. It shows me a glimpse of how things would be when I’m pregnant and can’t work or how he’ll behave if I get sick and he needs to provide.

Not all investments work out of course. I also contributed, just not financially, that was an investment on my part.

I feel bad for men who don’t make much but dates arent always at 5 star restaurants to be considered nice.

If the guy is complaining about spending money on me on a first date I know how the rest of the relationship will be. And that’s not for me.

The women preaching a holier than thou sentiment because they split the bill aren’t achieving what they hope. I actually look down on them. Go ahead and put yourself on clearance, I’m full price.
