Quality is about more than monetary investment. If you want to be spoiled by a rich guy, that's one thing, but don't expect the whole of his value to be tied to net worth. That's how women get financially abused by rich partners after the honeymoon phase is over.

Also, huge gift giving like that is a GIGANTIC red flag for me. It's something narcissists like to do in the love bombing phase so I'd be wary.

I don't really believe in testing people. You guys have only been dating a month, I'm not even sure if I would expect any gift at all. Or if I did, it would probably be something very generic and sub ~$50.

I know that if it were me. One month wouldn't be long at all. Not long enough to know intimate details on likes/dislikes. (You would only know broad ideas, like 'she likes dogs'.) And certainly not invested enough to go all out. Especially since at that stage I wouldnt've had 'deal breaker' type conversations with them. (Think children, prefered housing location, politics, past history and family, etc.)

But that's me, and I like to take things slow. I just wouldn't expect someone to be so deeply invested in me when something as simple as "I really want 3 kids. | Well I want no kids and I had a vasectomy." could ruin it then and there. Imagine buying him a $500 watch and then having that conversational bombshell drop.

If I were in your position, I would just ask for a special date. Go to a museum, concert, or restaurant that you wouldn't normally go to. Also, I don't completely equate 'high value' with 'high income.' The wealthy can be so low value on an emotional level that they wouldn't even be worth considering.

Not at all. A HVM works hard and wants to provide for his partner, however, a wealthy LVM can use money to look like a HVM. Anyone with money can spend $400 on a purse.
