I did it! I finally stood up for myself!

For 5 years, I dated someone who constantly manipulated me and made me feel like I didnt deserve a "real" relationship. I found out he cheated and I dumped him 3 weeks ago. I found this reddit page and immediately downloaded the handbook which has been my backbone through all of this.

So this boy tells me hes going to work on himself and go to therapy, blah blah blah. He lied about his cheating for years so I can never trust him again. He was a LVM 100%. He made over $100k a year and I paid for his plane ticket once to be "fair". This boys idea of a date was chipotle. He moved in with me and I gave him husband privileges with no intent to marry me. NEVER AGAIN!

Anyway, he tells me on Sunday hes going to take a step back from me and leave me alone so we can heal and then eventually go to couples therapy. And if he does this, can I unblock him. I gave it a thought WHICH WAS DUMB but I said ok I'll give you a chance. Not even two days later and he calls. Come on dude. He said he "misunderstood" and he thought he would show me that he's taking initiative by reaching out to me. How is that "leaving me alone"? He needed to tell me how he was going to fix everything that he did wrong. Wtf? Hes 40 years old and acts like he doesnt know what he even says or talks about!

I told him straight up he crossed my boundaries and he can never "fix" what he did, ever. He literally disrespected me after only 2 days, but apparently he needed to tell me he has changed so much in the last weeks. Lies! He doesnt get the chance to be with me because there shouldnt have been anything to change in the first place. He should have been honest from day one and he wasnt. I'm not entertaining the idea of dating him again only to feel like he might cheat. He should have been there for me just like I was there for him. I stood up to my family and friends when they all had to tell me what they though of him, which was not pleasant.

He is back on block and he's staying there. BOY BYE!
