Cleopatra 69-30 B.C.: literal last Queen of Egypt and Pharoh at age 17-18. She spoke 9 different languages and was known for being a shrewd politician that helped Egypt become intertwined with the Roman Empire!
Pearl S. Buck 1892-1973: The first woman to win a Nobel Prize for Literature on American & Asian culture
Ladonna Harris born 1931: Not only is she the President and Founder of Americans for Indian Opportunity, a national multitribal organization devoted to developing the economic opportunities and resources of Indians, she is also a huge political advocate that crusaded for the rights of children/women and elimination of poverty & discrimination among First Nations/Tribal Citizens. She was raised by her grandparents with traditional Comanche values and continues to fight for what is right.
Margaret Mead 1901-1978: An antropologist who extensively studied Samoan culture helped change society's perception on how they looked at adolescence as an essential developmental stage AND her studies supported the development of Social Work as a profession.
Harriet Tubman 1820–1913: The ultimate Queen who was a "conductor" on the Undergroud Railroad and helped over 300 slaves to freedom and did a BUNCH of things in history that deserve WAYYYYY more credit than she deserves. She's an icon, advocate, and key abolitionist during the Civil War. I am reading a book on her now and HOLY CRAP SHE NEEDS TO BE CELEBRATED SO MUCH MORE!

I know a woman who spent her 20s travelling and working as a teacher, around 30 she decided she wanted to train to be a doctor instead and at 40 is qualified and practising. No marriage or LTRs by her own choice (she dated at least one unpleasant LVM in her early 20s - maybe he put her off), owns a home and earns good money, happy ever after
