Let me start by saying I used to be a “cool girl” and had it drilled in my own head that Valentine’s day doesn’t matter and it was nothing special. But you know what, after last year with my now boyfriend (we were still dating but not in a relationship) I realized I do love it and want to celebrate it.

So yesterday the weather here was surprisingly warm and even a bit sunny, we went on a nice walk around the neighborhood, looked at the ducks in the partly-frozen lakes and had a nice talk and many kisses. In the evening he surprised me with a mixed bouquet with pink flowers (my favorite color and it also had roses, my favorite flower) and homemade lasagne which he knows is my favorite dish he makes. He had tried some new things in the recipe which turned out a success to my taste. I only touched the plate in order to eat from it, no serving, no doing dishes. We ate cuddled up in bed while watching The Office and Zumbo’s just desserts. He thanked me over and over again for the card I gave him and it was just a very nice, relaxed, restriction-friendly Valentine’s day. 🥰
