Refugee candidates are people who have reached a country of asylum but haven't yet been granted (or denied) refugee status. As such they have no work permit nor any right to welfare programs. As per european law, they must be housed and provided for, usually in collective living facilities, in dorms (not quite luxury, but not the streets).

Belgium has been over capacity for many years now. So in order to ensure "no child will sleep in the streets this winter", secretary of state for migration Nicole De Moor (christian party) has decide single men wil not be offered accomodation anymore. And will thus go homeless.Interestingly, women are to be considered as children, apparently.

This isn't surprising. The current government has been fixated on making as many men homeless as possible. Secretary of state for equality Sarah Schlitz (green party) has had 11 women-only shelter set up, while minister for social integration Eliane Tillieux (socialist party) has set up a re-housing program for the homeless with a quota of maximum 50% men.

What is worth mentionning though is that this time there has been an uproar by NGO's, BUT not a single reaction mentions gender (and of course no feminist organisation has made itsel heard, nor the national institute for the equality of women and men). The caring class only cares about those men because they are refugees, and will not mention the discriminatory aspect of the policy.

I'm so tired of this. Nobody cares. Not the left, not the right, not civil society, not government institutions dedicated to gender equality. Men are just not humans.

Of note is also the gender of the three authors of these discriminatory policies: they are all women. Belgium has strict gender quotas in politics. The goal was to have less sexist policies. The result is more sexist policies by politicians who would never have been elected without bending the democratic principle.

Misandrists (aka feminists) love to complain about powerful men so they can tantrum themselves to power, then they turn around and victimize the most vulnerable pople in society in the name of equality. I'm done findng excuses for that despicable movement. It is a form of nazism, and feminist are bad people. Period.
